Oct|04|2007 1space and data transfer allocations with nice feature set (i.e. features like custom php.ini for site level usage,
server wide ioncube encoder support etc many more useful features were available), with decent uptime record. I vote Positive

Jan|29|2008 2Hi,
I have taken a Tera Host plan with them which offers “UNLIMITED BANDWIDTH”.
Till yesterday all the videos were running fine. Now the videos play only for 1 minute and then stops. They have restricted my bandwidth. Is it not cheating????
Majority of popular websites including mine were pulled down for CPU Overload when in fact the cpu logs show some mysql queries running for 1 second???? Is it not cheating???
They have lot of downtime now and their servers are overloaded.
The “FREE DOMAIN” is another instance of cheating. If you need control of your domain, like for example, changing nameservers, they will ask you to close your account. See the e-mail below:
===============
We will able to provide you with EPP key for domain transferring after account cancellation only, because its promotion domain that comes for free along with account.
Please let us know if you have any further questions.
Sincerely,
Alex Hardin

That means your website will be down for days if you are planning to transfer to a new host. Is it not cheating????
HOSTICAN SUCKS…
NEVER, EVER, HOST WITH HOSTICAN
The issues started recently. We were happy with them initially. Now if you search for Hostican Sucks you will get lot of results, because it really sucks.

Jan|31|2008 3Yep. Hostican Really cheats you. I am also facing similar issue. The unmetered Bandwidth is just a promise. After some time they will restrict your bandwidth and if you mail them you will get a reply that it is an issue with your scripts. Really stupid support. They have overloaded their servers and are facing lot of issues recently. You may see lot of class action suits against them very shortly. NEVER TRUST HOSTICAN.

Feb|13|2008 4I got burned by HostICan. I have a more in depth explanation of what happened with them. They were good for a few months, then I started getting occasional strange CPU spikes. Not consistent. I did what they told me would help (use very few plugins, use wp-cache so pages are cached) I did all of what they said - yet they still would take my site down with those occasional CPU spikes. This did not happen in the MANY YEARS before moving to them, and it hasn’t happend since I LEFT them! You do the math. But all that aside - their worst flaw is the “guarantee” - or lack thereof. I wanted to leave and get a prorated refund (I had paid for two years up front) - but they consider anything outside of 30 days NON REFUNDABLE!! No other host I’ve worked with has this policy. If you’re not happy you can leave and get a prorated refund. But not with HostICan. It is TOO RISKY to host with them, if that’s the case. You’re better off going with another host who will honor their “your satisfaction or your money back” guarantee so that if things go sour you’re not stuck with them!

Feb|13|2008 5Sorry - one more interesting note: Check them out on the BBB website. They have an “Unsatisfactory” rating. It’s no wonder why.

LOL.

Mar|20|2008 7HOSTICAN really sucks. They don’t even have a backup of their data. Our files was totally lost, that why we’ve moved from hostican to liquid vps. I hope that liquid VPS will not be the same as hostican.
I was so disappointed of hostican’s service. Our website http://www.prcboardexamresults.com had only 5,000 to 10,000 unique visits daily, and hostican’s VPS can’t accommodate that small amount of traffic. Hostican offers 100% poor and crap service. I hope that all of hostican’s client will get out of hostican, before they realized that their data was corrupted, and totally gone. That’s what we’ve experience in hostican’s damn VPS. Backups? 99.9% up time guarantee? That’s a pure lie. One of our posts at prcboardexamresults.com has more than 4000 comments, and now, it turned into zero comments, because of HOSTICAN! I hope hostican will create a SEPARATE backup for their data!

Apr|03|2008 8DONT GO WITH HOSTICAN OR YOU WILL REGRET IT!
It really should be called HostICant. Their service is absolutely terrible. I first went on their Live Chat service (which actually isn’t around the clock as they claim) and talked to someone who was so rude. I was being nice asking for help. They said they couldn’t do it cos they weren’t tech, so I asked them whether they could get one over to help me on the live chat. they said they werent authorised to do that, so I asked whether they could ask their Manager to authorise them to do it. They gave me a farewell automated/canned response (I know it was canned because I use Live Chat at work) - they couldn’t even give me the common decency of even saying that their Manager was unavailable!
So I ended up emailing their Tech support, outlining the issue. Their Tech Representative emailed back saying that I could do it. I couldn’t - which they would have known if they actually read my email. Then I emailed back again outlining what I wanted - the person who read my email gave me the worst response ever. The next person FINALLY gave me the proper response I required.
Support my foot! They wouldn’t know what customer care was if something bit them on their arses!
Don’t go with HostICan. The only good thing about them is that they claim they have a money back guarantee. Let’s hope they do - otherwise all I can say is - Charge Back.

So I assume All will be fine…. BOY WAS I WRONG…. My site was suddenly gone,
but I didnt have time to checkup on it. So after some time i asked my friend to check what is wrong.
He said domain pending delete.
I was kinda shocked, contacted Hostican… their reply:
You will need to get it renewed, before any transfer will be able to take place, as
the current registrar will not release it otherwise. Joseph Pitman.
Anyway they send me to eNom… enom din wanna help… me back to Hostican… but no help…. enom again… no help… Hostican… no help
Result, domain deleted, same day registered by some jerk…. complained to enom and hostican.
I received an automated message they will come back to me.
Still waiting for feedback from them, but i dont expect they will.
Anyway Years of blogging lost… domain name… lost … money … lost… and faith in Hostican …. LOST
So learn from my mistakes, pay a bit more for good support! Find a good local partner instead of a big online partner. The money u think to save, you will have to spend on trying to fix the problem they created…
If hostican reads this they can email me at….. oh no the stupid fucks made me lose my email address too…
